Frequently Asked Questions

What time does worship begin?
Worship service begins at 10:30 a.m. in the Family Life Center. The primary focus of our services is to worship the risen Lord Jesus Christ through prayer, song, and faithful expository Biblical preaching. The service incorporates both an amazingly gifted choir as well a worshipful praise team. The music blends the faithful traditional hymns with the worshipful contemporary Christian music many enjoy on Christian radio today. You will be welcomed by a church family that is striving to be the body of Christ so that those who visit Good Hope would experience the love of Christ through us.

Our services are family oriented as we encourage families to have their family together for the worship time. As an option for parents, children's activities are available outside the worship service to children 5 years old through 5th grade during the preaching segment of our services.
What do people wear to worship?
Business casual seems to be most typical style. However, you'll find that the attire ranges from tie and dresses to shorts and tee shirts.

What can Good Hope offer my child?
On Sundays, we have Kid’s Zone during the 9:00 hour in the Family Life Center. Kid’s Zone includes a worship time especially designed for the children. During the worship service, children from kindergarten to 5th grade join their families for the worship/music time. After the offertory time, which is just prior to the message, the kids have the opportunity to exit the service and go participate in Christ-centered age-appropriate activities. Please be assured though, that your children are welcome to stay with you in the worship service if you prefer. On Wednesday nights during the school year, we have Cross Trainers which incorporates music, prayer, bible lesson, bible verse memorization, and lots of fun activities. During the summer, our children enjoy Son Seekers which brings in selected guests with creative ministries. A nursery is available during both Sunday and Wednesday activities.

What do I have to do to become a member of Good Hope?
  • You must have a personal commitment to Jesus Christ, acknowledging him as your Lord and Savoir.
  • You must be baptized by immersion as a believer.
  • You should complete the Good Hope New Member Class, a several-hour class that discusses the beliefs and goals of Good Hope. For more info or to sign up, please call the church office.
If I want to become a member of Good Hope, will I need to be baptized?
Good Hope believes that people who commit their lives to Jesus Christ should be baptized once they choose to make that commitment. Since we believe that baptism requires a personal commitment to Christ, we wait until our children are old enough to believe and understand the true meaning of baptism before we baptize them. If you have not been baptized by immersion since you became a believer, Good Hope requires that you be baptized. It doesn’t devalue a prior experience but simply reflects your desire to be baptized. If you have been baptized by immersion since trusting Christ, then you do not need to be baptized again.
