A Message From Keith Vaughan

As Senior Pastor of Good Hope Baptist Church, I want to thank you for stopping by to take a look at our web site. I pray that you will find encouragement in your walk with Christ and that if you are looking for a church home, you will seriously and prayerfully consider Good Hope.

When I look for a church in which to serve, I am looking for a few specific things. In describing the work of the early church in Acts, Luke writes…"they were continually devoting themselves to the apostles' teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer" (Acts 2:42). In looking for a church where you and your family can serve the Lord, I believe you need to find a church that puts the preaching and teaching of the Word of God as the most important thing. At Good Hope, we believe that a person's greatest need is a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. We therefore place a high premium on the teaching and preaching of the Bible. By doing that, we believe that we are able to introduce children, youth and adults to the One who can absolutely change your life. In addition, Good Hope is a place of fellowship. We actually have fun at church! From the smallest children to the senior adults, there is a place for you at Good Hope. You will encounter people who will rejoice with you when you are happy and will comfort you when you are sad. Good Hope Baptist Church truly is a family of believers! Now we wouldn't be a Baptist church if we didn't love to eat, so "the breaking of bread" is also important to us. We believe that we have been placed here to build relationships with the people in our community. Eating together and generally coming together for relationship building is important to us. Finally, we believe in prayer. Good Hope is not just a place that says we believe in prayer – we actually pray. We want to pray for you and your family. If you have a particular prayer request that we can pray with you about, please feel free to share it with us. You can rest assured that the people of Good Hope will diligently seek to intercede on your behalf as we pray for one another. If you would like to share your request with me personally, I would welcome the opportunity to pray with you and for you. You can email your requests to me at .

Thank you again for taking the time to allow me to introduce you briefly to Good Hope Baptist Church. But you know, the best way to learn about Good Hope is to join us for Sunday School and worship on Sunday mornings. We would love to see you. As we say over in eastern North Carolina where I'm from…"Ya'll Come!" I look forward to personally meeting you and your family very soon at Good Hope.

In Christ Alone,

Pastor Keith Vaughan
